Ailís Ní Ríain: DOWN
(c) Ailís Ní Ríain, 2010
“DOWN is a score created in 2010 for an installation collaboration with visual artist Nicola Dale as part of the Liverpool Biennial.
At the moment, I am very interested in the re-contextualisation of some of my work. In this case, the score of DOWN being re-interpreted by other musicians in a different context. A re-imagining of a ‘score’ in a different context.
There is an electroacoustic soundscape piece to accompany the score (below). The markings in the score allude to aspects of that piece.
The musician can access as much or as little of the original work as they wish to inform their reading of this score.” (Ailis Ni Riain)
